Shared treasures
May. 15th, 2005 05:01 pmAn author contacted me this weekend about my photos of the Bone Mural (scroll down if you haven't seen it!). He's just finishing up a book on Unusual Sights In New England and wants to add it. We talked about exactly what to include in the book, and ended up deciding to keep the mural semi-secret by not giving its precise location (it didn't hurt in reaching that conclusion that I don't know exactly where it is myself!). He plans to use one or more of my photos, and a brief writeup on it that I sent to my CD-customers emailing list, which is what had been forwarded to him in the first place.
Also, last week the person I had uncovered via a USENET posting, who had tapes of James Burke's great and out-of-print series Connections sent me copies! A very nifty present, and one I intend to share (via showings) promptly. "...Next week we'll see how the invention of the triangular sail led to the hydrogen bomb."
